What is the Art of Giving Campaign?

Join Me in This Meaningful Journey

I kindly ask you to assist me in achieving my goal of raising $100,000 in just 29 days. My birthday falls on February 29th, and this would undoubtedly be the most meaningful gift that a leap-year "9-year-old" could hope for!

The funds raised will directly support the Black Resilience in Colorado Fund and the Black Art Collective at the Denver Art Museum. Through strategic partnerships with these organizations, I am dedicated to bringing the rich world of Black art and its talented creators to our community.

Together, we can make a difference, celebrate the richness of art and culture, and leave an enduring legacy in our community. Your support means the world to me, and I am excited to embark on this incredible journey alongside you.

About Us: Celebrating a Year Like No Other

This year marks a truly exceptional occasion as we celebrate the 9th occurrence of my birthday on my actual birthdate. Throughout the years, I have celebrated this unique event in countless creative ways, surrounded by the warmth and love of friends and family. However, this time, I find inspiration in commemorating this once-in-every-four-years milestone by uniting my passion for humanity with my deep love for art.

The Art of Giving: Join Us in Making a Difference

For my upcoming birthday celebration, I extend a heartfelt invitation to you to embrace the “art of giving”. The perennial question of what I desire as a birthday gift has often left me at a loss for words. This year, I’ve found my answer. Instead of traditional gifts, I’m requesting your support in giving back to our community by spreading the joy of African & Black Art across the Diaspora.

A Celebration of Culture, Creativity, and Community

I can't imagine a better way to mark the convergence of Black History Month, Leap Year, and my birthday. Throughout the month of February, your contributions to my "Art of Giving" campaign will play a pivotal role in advancing Black Art. But what does this advancement entail? It means actively nurturing the Black art ecosystem by acquiring visual art pieces, fostering meaningful connections with Black artists, and establishing sustainable systems that support Black art and artists within our local community.
